Coolant Replacement (cont'd)
8. Loosely install the radiator cap.
9. Start the engine. Set the heater temperature control
dial to maximum heat and let it run until it warms
up (the radiator fan comes on at least twice).
10. Turn off the engine. Check the level in the radiator,
and add Honda Long Life Antifreeze/Coolant Type 2,
if needed.
11. Put the radiator cap on tightly, then start the engine
again, and check for leaks.
12. Clean up any spilled engine coolant.
13. If the maintenance minder required engine coolant
replacement, reset the maintenance minder
(see page 3-6), and this procedure is complete. If
the maintenance minder did not require engine
coolant replacement, go to step 11.
14. Connect the Honda Diagnostic System (HDS) to the
data link connector (DLC) (see step 2 on page 11-3).
15. Make sure the HDS communicates with the vehicle
and the engine control module (ECM)/powertrain
control module (PCM). If it doesn't communicate,
troubleshoot the DLC circuit (see page 11-208).
16. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II).
17. Select BODY ELECTRICAL with the HDS.
18. Select ADJUSTMENT in the GAUGE MENU with
the HDS.
19. Select RESET in the MAINTENANCE MINDER with
the HDS.
20. Select MAINTENANCE SUB ITEM 5 RESET with the
HDS.
