Energy save mode

When the machne has been dle for a predetermned amount of tme, the Energy
Save mode wll actvate to conserve power. By default, the machne wll automat-
cally enter the Energy Save mode after 5 mnutes of dle tme.
Whle the Energy Save mode:
• <Energy Save> llumnates n green to ndcates that the machne s n the
Energy Save mode. (However, the scanner lamp wll not shut off.)
• Press <Energy Save> to recover from the Energy Save mode.
To actvate the energy save mode or cancel t manually, press <Energy Save>.
You can set whether the energy save mode s automatcally canceled or starts after
a specfied tme. For detals on settngs, refer to "Energy save mode" under "Man-
agement Settngs" (page 9-26).
NOTE
• Even whle n the energy save mode, documents scanned nto memory can be
transmtted, fax documents can be receved, and prnt jobs can be receved from a
personal computer.
• The machne does not swtch to the energy save mode n the followng cases:
• Whle scannng a document
• When a document s loaded on the ADF
• When the "Calbratng Scanner" message appears n the dsplay
• When prnter errors such as a paper jam or shortage of toner occur
• When paper n all the paper cassettes runs out
• When prntng a copy or fax
• When the coolng fan s rotatng nsde the machne
• When the telephone lne s used
• The energy save mode s canceled n the followng cases:
• When recevng a fax (The dsplay s left OFF)
• When recevng a prnt job from a personal computer (The dsplay s left OFF)
• When an error lst s automatcally prnted
