Settings for fax reception

Setting the number of rings

Default settng: Twce
You can set how many tmes your machne wll rng before answerng a call. Choose
from 0 to 10 rngs.

Press <Settng>, [Fax Settngs], [Other Settngs], [Number of Rngs].

Print settings

You can set three parameters for prntng receved fax documents:
• Rx reducton rate
• Reducton margn
• Paper save functon
All three can be set n the same procedure, mentoned on next page.
Each descrpton s as follows:
Reception reduction rate:
Recepton reducton lets you set the machne to reduce large ncomng documents
to a sze that fits the paper n your machne. (Ths settng doesn't affect your
machne's copyng capabltes.)
Below are the optons for the prnt reducton rate for fax recepton:

Reduction margin:
Your machne's reducton margn s measured n nches (n). We wll define reduc-
ton margn by explanng how t s used:
When a fax message enters your machne's memory, the machne measures the
message length and compares t to (a) the length of your selected paper (not nclud-
ng the prnt margns) plus (b) the reducton margn you set. If the length of the
ncomng message s shorter than (a) plus (b), your machne wll prnt the message
on one sheet.
If t s longer, your machne wll prnt the message on two or more sheets.
An Auto reducton settng and a reducton margn settng of 1.5 n. wll prnt most
ncomng faxes as sngle pages. Try ths combnaton first and f t does not work
select a dfferent settng.

Descrpton
Automatcally reduces prntouts at varable rates down to a mn-
mum of 50%. Tres to reduce prntouts to fit on one sheet of the
selected paper sze. If t cannot reduce the document to fit on one
page, the mage wll prnt at 100% sze on two or more pages.
Does not reduce documents. (Due to the sender's TTI, ths may
prnt two pages when recevng a one-page fax document.)
