Initial setup (User Install)

In some countres you are requred by law to ndcate the sender name and fax
number on every fax you send.
YOU MUST THEREFORE STORE THE SENDER NAME AND FAx NUM-
BER IN YOUR MACHINE BEFORE USING IT.
Every fax page you send arrves at the recevng machne wth a sngle lne of text
at the very top of the page. Ths text lsts a sender name, called the Transmt Ter-
mnal Identfier (TTI), and a fax number.
Under "Specfyng the ntal settngs" next page, you can setup the followng tems
ncludng your name and fax number.
• Language
Select the language to use.
• Current date and tme
Set the correct date and tme. Ths settng s appled to all fax operatons,
such as the delayed transmsson and communcaton management optons.
• Automatc daylght savng tme detecton
Adjust the clock automatcally n the summer tme perod.
• Broadcastng
Set the broadcast transmsson opton.
• Phone dal type
Set accordng to the type of lne to whch the machne s connected. If the
wrong settng s made, telephone or fax cannot be used.
• Fax recepton mode
Select the desred recepton mode from the Fax mode, Tel/Fax mode, Fax/Tel
mode, Answerng/Fax mode, or Tel mode optons.

• Dal tone detecton
Set the dal tone detecton.
• Sender name (TTI) regstraton
Ths makes t easy to show the sender's name to the recevng party, to prnt
the name on the document receved by the recevng party, and for the recev-
ng party to know where the document came from. Up to 22 characters can be
entered, and three names can be regstered.
• Default TTI
The most commonly-used TTI among three possble regstered TTIs can be
desgnated as the default TTI.
• Your fax number
The fax number of ths machne can be told to the recevng party, or prnted
on the document receved. Up to 20 dgts can be entered.
• Tme zone
A tme zone s a regon that adopts the same tme dfferences as the ones
from the Royal Observatory, Greenwch, England (wthn ± 12 hours), usually
regarded as standard tme around the world.
These settngs can be changed at any tme.
