Placing a Spot Elevation Dimension
1 Click Annotate tab
2 In the Type Selector, select the type of spot elevation to place.
3 On the Options Bar:
4 Select an edge of an element, or select a point on a toposurface.
5 If you are placing a spot elevation:

a Select or clear the Leader option.
The following image shows the same spot elevation without and with a leader.
b If the Leader option is selected, optionally select the Shoulder option. This adds a bend to
the spot elevation leader.
The following image shows a spot elevation with and without a leader shoulder.
c If you are placing a relative spot elevation, select an option for Relative Base.
d Select an option for Display Elevations.
NOTE This option is enabled when you place a spot elevation in a plan view.
Actual (Selected) Elevation displays the elevation of the selected point on the element.
Top Elevation displays the top elevation of the element.
Bottom Elevation displays the bottom elevation of the element.
Top & Bottom Elevation displays the top and bottom elevations of the element.
When you move the cursor over an element on which you can place the spot elevation, the
value of the spot elevation displays in the drawing area.
