Installing a T1600-SIB

Each T1600-SIB weighs approximately 6.5 lb (3 kg). To install a T1600-SIB (see Figure
133 on page 232):
Attach an electrostatic discharge (ESD) grounding strap to your bare wrist, and connect

the strap to one of the ESD points on the chassis.
Place one hand underneath the T1600-SIB to support it. With the other hand, hold

one of the ejector handles on the T1600-SIB faceplate.
Carefully align the sides of the T1600-SIB with the guides inside the chassis.

Slide the T1600-SIB into the chassis, carefully ensuring that it is correctly aligned.

Grasp both ejector handles and press them inward to seat the T1600-SIB. Ensure that

the ejector handle tabs are properly mated inside their corresponding chassis slots.
You might have to close and open the handles a few times before the tabs catch the
slots.
Tighten the captive screws on the ejector handles.

Bring the T1600-SIB online using one of the following methods:

Press and hold the
ONLINE/OFFLINE
LED on the faceplate begins to blink. Hold the button down until the LED blinks.

Issue the following CLI command on the router:
user@host> request chassis sib online slot 0
