The QFX10008 and QFX10016 chassis have several field-replaceable units (FRUs) that
have fragile components. To avoid damaging the line cards, Routing and RCBs (RCBs),
and Switch Interface Boards (SIBs), be sure you follow the following safe handling
practices. This topic covers:
Holding Line Cards and RCBs on page 173
Holding SIBs on page 175
Storing Line Cards, RCBs, and SIBs on page 176
Pay proper attention to the way you are holding line cards and RCBs. These FRUs are
installed horizontally and it is best to hold them by the sides of the units when they are
not in the chassis.
When walking with a line card or RCB:
Orient the line card or the RCB so that the faceplate is toward you.
1.
Grasp each side of the unit firmly as you slide the unit out of the chassis.
2.
Take care not to strike the unit against any object as you carry it.
3.
