Direction Finding (Option 390 Time Difference of Arrival (TDoA)) – Requires Spectrum
Analyzer Mode (Option 233), and GPS Receiver (Option 307)
Time Difference of Arrival (TDOA) – (Requires Option 390)
Time Difference of Arrival (TDOA) – (Requires Option 390)
The Time Difference of Arrival (TDOA) measurements are generally used for
geo-locating RF sources. It requires three or more remote FieldFox units set up
as receivers (sensors) capable of detecting the signal-of-interest. All FieldFox
units are synchronized using a GPS signal.
The Spectrum measured by all FieldFox units selected is measured and used to
identify the signal of interest which is then geo-located using TDoA.
IMPORTANT! It is not sufficient to be locked to the GNSS satellite, the
frequency reference must be locked to GPS.
