Click
Learn
in the Assignment field of a parameter to enter Learn mode for that parame-
ter.
The Assignment field shows a blinking Learning.

Move the desired control element (knob, button, etc.) on your MIDI controller.
The Assignment field automatically displays the MIDI message type received (CC number,
PC
for Program Change, or
MIDI.
Note that the assignments you create will receive MIDI messages on all channels of all enabled
MIDI ports.
For the Learn mode and the resulting MIDI control to work, MIDI must be correctly con-
figured in MASCHINE. If MASCHINE is running as stand-alone application this is done
in the
MIDI
page of the
↑2.6.3, Preferences – MIDI
cation the MIDI configuration is done in the host — see section
Plug-in
Mode.
If there is already a MIDI assignment for the parameter, the new MIDI assignment will replace
the previous one. If you change your mind and don't want to assign any new MIDI control,
while
Learn
is blinking click the Assignment field again or press [Esc] on your computer key-
board.
You cannot assign the same MIDI control to more than one parameter in MASCHINE: If
a MIDI control is already assigned to a parameter, when you assign it to another parame-
ter its first assignment is automatically deleted.
If you want to simply remove a MIDI assignment without recording a new one, do the following:
