DTC P0747: A/T Clutch Pressure Control
Solenoid Valve A Stuck ON
NOTE: Record all freeze data and review General
Troubleshooting Information (see page 14-4) before
y o u troubleshoot.
1. W a r m up the engine to n o r m a l operating
temperature (the radiator fan comes on).
2. Make sure that the t r a n s m i s s i o n is filled to the
proper level, and check for f l u i d leaks.
3. Drain the ATF (see step 3 o n page 14-231) t h r o u g h a
strainer. Inspect the strainer f o r metal debris or
excessive clutch material.
Does the strainer have metal debris or excessive
clutch material?
YES—Replace the t r a n s m i s s i o n . •
NO—Replace the ATF (see step 5 on page 14-231),
then go to step 4.
4. Clear the DTC w i t h the HDS.
5. Test-drive the vehicle in the D position in all five
gears at speeds over 12 m p h (20 km/h) for more
than 20 seconds, then s l o w d o w n to a stop.
6. Retest-drive the vehicle in the D position in all five
gears at speeds over 12 m p h (20 km/h) for more
than 20 seconds, then s l o w d o w n to a stop.
7. M o n i t o r the OBD status for P0747 in the DTCs/
Freeze Data in A/T Mode M e n u for a pass/fail.
Does the result indicate a fail?
Y E S — G o t o step 8.
NO—Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this
t i m e . If the tester indicates NOT COMPLETE, return
to step 5 and recheck. •
8. Clear the DTC w i t h the HDS.
9. Choose Clutch Pressure Control (Linear) Solenoid A
in Miscellaneous Test M e n u , and test the A / T clutch
pressure control solenoid valve A w i t h the HDS.
Is the system OK ?
Y E S — G o t o step 10.
NO—Follow the instructions indicated o n the HDS
by the tester result. Go t o step 13 if any part is
replaced.
10. Test-drive the vehicle in the D position in all five
gears at speeds over 12 m p h (20 km/h) for more
than 20 seconds, then s l o w d o w n to a stop.
11. Retest-drive the vehicle in the D position in all five
gears at speeds over 12 m p h (20 km/h) for more
than 20 seconds, then s l o w d o w n to a stop.
12. M o n i t o r the OBD status f o r P0747 in the DTCs/
Freeze Data in A/T M o d e M e n u for a pass/fail.
Does the result indicate a fail?
YES—Replace A/T clutch pressure control solenoid
valve A (see page 14-216), then go to step 13.
NO—Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this
t i m e . If the tester indicates NOT COMPLETE, return
to step 10 and recheck. •
13. Clear the DTC w i t h the HDS.
14. Test-drive the vehicle in the D position in all five
gears at speeds over 12 m p h (20 km/h) for more
than 20 seconds, then s l o w d o w n to a stop.
15. Retest-drive the vehicle in the D position in all five
gears at speeds over 12 m p h (20 km/h) for more
than 20 seconds, then s l o w d o w n t o a stop.
16. M o n i t o r the OBD status for P0747 in the DTCs/
Freeze Data in A/T M o d e M e n u f o r a pass/fail.
Does the result indicate a pass?
Y E S — T h e p r o b l e m has been corrected. •
NO—Return t o step 8 and recheck.
