50. Measure the voltage between PCM connector

Is there battery voltage?
Y E S — U p d a t e the PCM if it does not have the latest
software, or substitute a k n o w n - g o o d PCM
(see page 14-7), then recheck. If the s y m p t o m /
indication goes away w i t h a k n o w n - g o o d PCM,
replace the original P C M . B
N O — G o t o step 5 1 .
5 1 . Turn the ignition switch OFF.
52. J u m p the SCS line w i t h the HDS.
53. Disconnect PCM connector C (22P).
54. Disconnect the transmission range switch
connector.
55. Check for continuity between PCM connector
t e r m i n a l C21 and body g r o u n d .

Is there continuity?
Y E S — R e p a i r a short in the w i r e between PCM
connector terminal C21 and the transmission range
switch, then go to step 56.
NO—Update the PCM if it does not have the latest
software, or substitute a k n o w n - g o o d PCM
(see page 14-7), then recheck. If the s y m p t o m /
indication goes away w i t h a k n o w n - g o o d PCM,
replace the original P C M . B
56. Clear the DTC w i t h the HDS.
57. M o v e the shift lever t h r o u g h all positions. Stop for
at least 1 second in each position.
58. M o n i t o r the OBD status for P0705 in the DTCs/
Freeze Data in A/T Mode M e n u for a pass/fail.
Does the result indicate a pass?
Y E S — T h e p r o b l e m has been corrected. •
NO—Return to step 4 and recheck.
