12. Adjust the inboard joint until the rollers are in the
middle of the joint.
13. Fit the boot ends onto the driveshaft and the
inboard joint, then install the new double loop band
(A) onto the boot.
14. Pull up the slack in the band by hand.
15. Mark a position (A) on the band 10—14 m m
(0.4—0.6 in.) f r o m the clip (B).
16. Using the free end of the band t h r o u g h the nose
section of the c o m m e r c i a l l y available boot band
tool KD-3191 or equivalent (A), and into the slot on
the w i n d i n g mandrel (B).
17. Using a w r e n c h on the w i n d i n g mandrel of the boot
band t o o l , and tighten the band until the marked
spot (C) on the band meets the edge of the clip.
18. Lift up the boot band tool to bend the free end of
the band 90 degrees to the clip. Center-punch the
clip, then f o l d over the remaining tail onto the clip.
