DTC P1904: Open in Auxiliary Transmission
Fluid Pump (ATFP) Motor W-phase Circuit
NOTE:
• Record all freeze data and review General
Troubleshooting Information (see page 14-4) before
y o u troubleshoot.
• This code is caused by an electrical circuit p r o b l e m
and cannot be caused by a mechanical problem in the
transmission.
1. Clear the DTC w i t h the HDS.
2. Choose ATFP Motor Test in Miscellaneous Test
M e n u , and check that the DTC indicates.
Are DTC P1902, P1903, and P1904
indicated
simultaneously?
Y E S — G o t o step 3.
NO—Only DTC P1904 is indicated, go to step 6. If
no DTCs recur, intermittent failure, the system is
OK at this time. Check for poor connections or
loose terminals at the ATFP control unit and the
ATFP motor.
3. Turn the ignition switch OFF.
4. Disconnect the ATFP control unit connector.
5. Check for continuity between ATFP control unit
connector terminal No. 4 and body g r o u n d .

Is there
continuity?
YES—Replace the ATFP control unit (see page
14-229), then go to step 1 1 .
NO—Repair an open in the w i r e between ATFP
control unit connector t e r m i n a l No. 4 and g r o u n d
(G501), or repair poor g r o u n d (G501), then go to
step 11.
6. Turn the ignition switch OFF.
7. Disconnect the ATFP control unit connector and
ATFP motor connector.
8. Inspect the connectors and connector terminals to
be sure they are making g o o d contact.
Are the connector
terminals
OK?
Y E S - G o t o step 9.
NO—Repair the connector t e r m i n a l s , then go to
step 9.
