DTC P0962: Problem in A/T Clutch Pressure
Control Solenoid Valve A Circuit
NOTE:
• Record all freeze data and review General
Troubleshooting Information (see page 14-4) before
y o u troubleshoot.
• This code is caused by an electrical circuit p r o b l e m
and cannot be caused by a mechanical p r o b l e m in the
transmission.
1. Clear the DTC w i t h the HDS.
2. Check that DTC P0962 recurs.
Is DTC P0962 indicated?
Y E S — G o t o step 6.
N O — G o t o step 3.
3. Choose Clutch Pressure Control Solenoid Control
in Miscellaneous Test M e n u , and test the A/T clutch
pressure control solenoid valve A w i t h the HDS.
Is the system normal?
Y E S — G o t o step 4.
NO—Go to step 6.
4. Drive w i t h the A/T clutch pressure control solenoid
valve A at 1.0 A in Clutch Pressure Control Solenoid
Control m e n u .
5. M o n i t o r the OBD status for P0962 in the DTCs/
Freeze Data in A/T Mode Menu for a pass/fail.
Does the result indicate a fail?
Y E S — G o t o step 6.
NO—Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this
t i m e . Check for poor connections or loose terminals
at the A/T clutch pressure control solenoid valve A
and the PCM. If the tester indicates NOT
COMPLETE, return to step 3 and r e c h e c k . •
6. Turn the ignition switch OFF.
7. Disconnect the A/T clutch pressure control solenoid
valve A connector.
Measure the A/T clutch pressure control solenoid
valve A resistance at the solenoid connector.

Is there 3-10.Q?
Y E S — G o t o step 9.
NO—Replace the A/T clutch pressure control
solenoid valve A (see page 14-216), then go to step
13.
9. Check for continuity between A/T clutch pressure
control solenoid valve A connector terminal No. 2
and body g r o u n d .

W i r e side of female t e r m i n a l s
Is there continuity?
Y E S — G o t o step 10.
NO—Repair an open in the w i r e between the A/T
clutch pressure control solenoid valve A and
g r o u n d (G101, G102), or repair a poor g r o u n d
(G101, G102), then go to step 13.
