11. Measure the voltage between PCM connector
t e r m i n a l C20 and body g r o u n d .

Is there about 5 V?
YES—Repair an open in the w i r e between PCM
connector terminal C20 and the 4th clutch
transmission fluid pressure s w i t c h , then go to step
12.
NO—Check for loose or poor connections at PCM
connector terminal C20. If the connection is OK,
update the PCM if it does not have the latest
software, or substitute a k n o w n - g o o d PCM
(see page 14-7), then recheck. If the s y m p t o m /
m
indication goes away w i t h a k n o w n - g o o d PCM,
replace the original P C M . B
12. Clear the DTC w i t h the HDS.
13. Start the engine, and w a r m it up to normal
operating temperature (the radiator fan comes on).
14. Drive the vehicle in 4th gear in the D position for
more than 5 seconds. S l o w d o w n and stop the
wheels.
15. Monitor the OBD status for P0873 in the DTCs/
Freeze Data in A/T M o d e M e n u for a pass/fail.
Does the result indicate a pass?
YES—The p r o b l e m has been c o r r e c t e d . •
NO—Return to step 7 and recheck.
