Auxiliary Transmission Fluid Pump (ATFP) Control
The auxiliary transmission f l u i d p u m p supplies hydraulic pressure to the hydraulic circuit d u r i n g auto idle stop.
W h e n the vehicle comes to a stop in auto idle stop m o d e , the ATF p u m p in the main valve body also stops, then the
PCM and auxiliary transmission f l u i d p u m p (ATFP) control unit start the auxiliary transmission f l u i d p u m p to supply
hydraulic pressure to the hydraulic circuit. The auxiliary transmission fluid p u m p continues to supply enough
hydraulic pressure for the clutch to engage until the engine auto-starts. W h e n the engine auto-starts, the ATFP control
unit stops the auxiliary transmission fluid p u m p .
The PCM outputs the required a m o u n t of motor torque to the ATFP control unit. The ATFP control unit processes data,
drives the auxiliary transmission f l u i d p u m p motor, and sends a feedback signal of motor t o r q u e to the PCM.

p u m p assembly and the 3-phase brushless DC motor.
