Rear Window Replacement
NOTE:
• Put on gloves to protect your hands.
• W e a r eye protection w h i l e cutting the glass adhesive
w i t h piano w i r e .
• Use seat covers to avoid d a m a g i n g any surfaces.
• Do not damage the rear w i n d o w defogger grid lines,
w i n d o w antenna grid lines, and terminals.
1. Remove these items:
• Trunk lid
• Rear shelf (see page 20-51)
2. Disconnect the rear w i n d o w defogger connectors
(A).

4. Pull d o w n the rear portion of the headliner (A) by
detaching the clips (B). Take care not to bend the
headliner excessively, or y o u may crease or break
it.

5. A p p l y protective tape along the inside and outside
edges of the body. Using an a w l , make a hole
t h r o u g h the adhesive f r o m inside the vehicle at the
corner portion of the rear w i n d o w . Push a piece of
piano w i r e t h r o u g h the hole, and w r a p each end
around a piece of w o o d .
3. If the old rear w i n d o w is to be reinstalled, make
alignment marks across the glass and body w i t h a
grease pencil.
