7. Turn the battery module switch OFF (see page 12-4).
8. Remove the IPU lid (see page 12-140).
9. Disconnect M C M connector R (24P). Make sure the
HDS is disconnected f r o m the DLC.
10. Check for continuity between DLC terminal No. 7
and body ground.

Is there continuity?
YES—Repair short to g r o u n d in the w i r e between
DLC terminal No. 7 and the M C M (B17). After
repairing the w i r e , check for a DTC w i t h the HDS. If
there is a DTC, go t o the DTC Troubleshooting. •
N O — G o t o step 11.
11. Connect DLC terminal No. 7 to body g r o u n d w i t h a
j u m p e r wire.

Is there continuity?
YES—Update the M C M if it does not have the latest
software, or substitute a k n o w n - g o o d M C M , then
recheck (see page 12-8). If the s y m p t o m / i n d i c a t i o n
goes away w i t h a k n o w n - g o o d M C M , replace the
original M C M (see page 1 2 - 8 ) . •
NO—Repair open in the w i r e between DLC terminal
No. 7 and the M C M (B17). After repairing the w i r e ,
check for a DTC w i t h the HDS. If there is a DTC, go
to the DTC Troubleshooting. •
13. Turn the ignition switch OFF.
14. Turn the battery module switch OFF (see page 12-4).
15. Remove the IPU lid (see page 12-140).
16. Disconnect M C M connector B (24P). Make sure the
HDS is disconnected f r o m the DLC.
