DTC 51: Motor Lock
1. Check the No. 17 (30 A) fuse in the under-hood
fuse/relay box.
Is the fuse OK?
Y E S — R e i n s t a l l the fuse, and go to step 2.
NO—Replace the fuse, and recheck. •
2. Disconnect the ABS/TCS control unit 47P connector.
3. Measure the voltage between the ABS/TCS control
unit 47P connector terminal No. 16 and body
g r o u n d .

Wire side of female terminals
Is there battery voltage?
Y E S — G o to step 4.
NO—Repair open in the w i r e between the No. 17
(30 A) fuse and the ABS/TCS modulator-control
unit. •
4. Reconnect the ABS/TCS control unit 47P connector.
5. Turn the ignition switch ON (II).
6. Measure the voltage between the ABS/TCS control
unit 47P connector t e r m i n a l No. 47 and body
g r o u n d .

Is there less than 0.1 V?
Y E S — G o t o step 7.
NO—Repair open in the w i r e between the ABS/TCS
modulator-control unit and body g r o u n d (G203).B
7. Clear the DTC using the HDS (see page 19-35).
8. Disconnect the HDS f r o m the 16P DLC.
9. Turn the ignition switch OFF, then t u r n it ON (II)
again.
10. Test-drive the vehicle at 10 m p h (15 km/h) or more.
Does the ABS indicator come on, and is DTC 51 or
52 indicated?
YES—Replace the ABS/TCS m o d u l a t o r - c o n t r o l u n i t
(see page 19-79). •
NO—The system is OK at this t i m e .
