15. Check for continuity between body g r o u n d and
M C M connector terminal A 2 1 .

continuity?
YES—Repair short in the w i r e between the M C M
(A21) and the battery current sensor, then go to
step 17.
NO—Replace the battery current sensor (see page
12-142), then g o t o step 17.
16. Check for continuity between battery current
sensor 3P connector terminal No. 2 and M C M
connector terminal A 2 1 .

17. Turn the ignition switch OFF.
18. Reconnect all connectors.
19. Reinstall the IPU lid (see page 12-140), then turn the
battery module switch ON (see page 12-4).
20. Turn the ignition switch ON (II).
21. Resetthe M C M (see page 12-6).
22. Start the engine.
23. Check for Temporary DTCs or DTCs w i t h the HDS.
Are any Temporary
DTCs or DTCs
indicated?
YES—If DTC P1586 is indicated, check for poor
connections or loose terminals at the battery
current sensor and the M C M , then go to step 1. If
any other T e m p o r a r y DTCs or DTCs are indicated,
go to the indicated DTCs t r o u b l e s h o o t i n g .
NO—Troubleshooting is complete. •

24. Reinstall the IPU lid (see page 12-140), then t u r n the
battery m o d u l e switch ON (see page 12-4).
25. Update the MCM if it does not have the latest
software, or substitute a k n o w n - g o o d M C M
(see page 12-8).
26. Check for Temporary DTCs or DTCs w i t h the HDS.
Are any Temporary
DTCs
or DTCs
indicated?
Y E S - l f DTC P1586 is indicated, check for poor
connections or loose terminals at the battery
current sensor and the M C M , then go to step 1. If
any other T e m p o r a r y DTCs or DTCs are indicated,
go to the indicated D T C s t r o u b l e s h o o t i n g .
NO — I f the M C M was updated, t r o u b l e s h o o t i n g is
complete. If the M C M was substituted, replace the
original M C M (see page 12-8). •
Y E S — G o t o step 24.
NO—Repair open in the w i r e between the M C M
(A21) and the battery current sensor, then go to
step 18.
