4. Check for continuity between EPS control unit
connector A (2P) terminals No. 2 and No. 1.
E P S CONTROL UNIT C O N N E C T O R A (2P)
M - (BLU)
M + (RED)
Wire side of f e m a l e t e r m i n a l s
Is there continuity?
YES—Repair short in the w i r e between the EPS
control unit terminals A1 and A 2 . B
NO—Check for loose terminals and poor
connections at the motor and the EPS control unit.
If necessary, substitute a k n o w n - g o o d EPS control
unit and recheck. •
DTC 4: Upper FET Stuck ON
1. Turn the ignition switch ON (II).
2. Clear the DTC w i t h the HDS.
3. Start the engine.
4. Turn the steering wheel f r o m lock-to-lock several
times, and w a i t 10 seconds or more.
Does the EPS indicatior come on?
YES—Go to step 5.
NO—The system is OK at this t i m e . B
5. Stop the engine, and verify the DTC.
Is DTC 4 indicated?
Y E S — G o t o step 6.
NO—Perform the appropriate troubleshooting for
the DTC indicated. •
6. Turn the ignition switch OFF, then disconnect EPS
control unit connector B (2P).
7. Check for continuity between EPS control unit
connector B (2P) terminal No. 2 and body g r o u n d .

Is there continuity ?
YES—Check for loose terminals and poor
connections at the EPS control unit. If necessary,
substitute a k n o w n - g o o d EPS control unit and
recheck. •
NO—Repair open in the w i r e between the EPS
control unit and the body g r o u n d ( G 6 5 D . B
