20. Update the PCM if it does not have the latest
software, or substitute a k n o w n - g o o d PCM
(see page 11-6).
2 1 . Let the engine cool until the coolant temperature is
between 21 °F ( - 6 °C) and 104 °F (40 °C).
22. Start the engine. Hold the engine speed at
3,000 rpm w i t h o u t load (in Park or neutral) until the
radiator fan comes o n , then let it idle.
23. Test-drive at a steady speed between 15—75 m p h
(24—120 km/h) for 10 minutes.
24. Check for Temporary DTCs or DTCs w i t h the HDS.
Are any Temporary DTCs or DTCs indicated?
Y E S — I f DTC P0128 is indicated, check for poor
connections or loose terminals at ECT sensor 1,
ECT sensor 2, and the PCM, then go to step 1. If any
other Temporary DTCs or DTCs are indicated, go to
the indicated D T C s t r o u b l e s h o o t i n g .
NO—If the PCM was updated, t r o u b l e s h o o t i n g is
complete. If the PCM was substituted, replace the
original PCM (see page 1 1 - 2 1 9 ) . •
