Be sure T-R (transformer-rectifier) contactor control switch (7, Fig. 7) is in
OFF position.
Connect DC output cable plug to aircraft receptacle connector. Be sure a good
connection is made.
WARNING:
DO NOT CLOSE THE 400-HZ OUTPUT
LOAD CONTACTOR.
If illumination is required, turn instrument light ON with switch (10, Fig. 7).
Close the load contactor to deliver power to output cables by momentarily
holding contactor control switch (7) in top ON position until green light (6)
glows. Release switch and allow it to return to center ON position.
Check to be certain fans are running.
Observe voltmeter (3) and ammeter (5).
Under loaded conditions the voltmeter
should indicate approximately 100 V DC.
The T-R should be loaded to no
more than 400 A for continuous operation. The 112-V DC T-R does not have
current-limiting,
nor line-drop capability.
Remember that an overload, overvoltage, or overheating will cause the load
contactor to disconnect the load and turn OFF the green indicating light
(6, Fig. 7).
If "shut-down" occurs, check for condition that caused "shut-down"
and remedy before restarting the T-R.
