lnsta llation
A.
Preparation
for Installation
(1)
Location
If the vehicle
chassis was moved or stored away from the location
where the
engine-generator
was removed,
it must be re-located
in a clean,
clear area
where
lifting
equipment
is available.
Move everything
required
(canopy,
transmission,
etc.)
into the assembly area.
Check all parts and assemblies
to be sure everything
required
for assembly is available,
in good condition,
and ready for assembly.

required
Tools and equipment
required
for installation
are the same as those listed
in
Para.
2, A,
(2) above.

Installation
Procedures
(1)
Install
clutch
and transmission
It is much easier
to install
the clutch
and transmission
while
the engine-generator
assembly
is removed from the vehicle.
(a)
Position
clutch
disc and clutch
cover on the exciter
flywheel.
Use a clutch
alignment
tool to align
clutch
disc splines
with pilot
bearing
in the end of
the exciter
shaft.
(b)
Align
cover mounting
holes and install
cap screws.
Tighten
screws a little
at a time,
alternating
from screw to opposite
screw until
all screws are
securely
tightened.
(c)
Install
transmission
by
guiding
the end of the main shaft
through
the splined
clutch
huband
into the pilot
bearing.
NOTE:
If the clutch
huband
pilot
bearing are not in alignment,
it may
be necessary to loosen the clutch
cover screws to allow
the clutch
disk to move slightly
and align
with the pilot
bearing.
Retighten
clutch
cover screws secure ly .
(d)
Install
transmission
attaching
cap screws securely.
