COMPONENTS
REMOVAL
AND
INSTALLATION
1.
Genera I
Most components of the self-propelled
generator
set are removable
and replaceable
with-
out special
instruction.
Before removing
any assembly or unit,
observe and note the mounting
arrangement,
the
routing
of any connecting
parts and wiring,
and the terminal
location
of input and out-
put leads.
Use good mechanical
and electrical
practices
in both removal and installation.
Do not
use undue force to remove or instal I components.
Refer
to Chapter
7 for illustrations
of components and their
relation
to each other.
Re-
fer to connection
diagrams
in Chapter
5 for complete
wiring
details.
2.
Generator
Control
Box Trays
The three trays mounted in the generator
control
box are designed for quick and easy
removal
and installation.
All
trays are removed in a similar
manner.
A.
Removal
(1)
hscrew
hex head,
captive
fasteners
(2,
Fig.
1) and pull tray outward.
(2)
Unscrew
serrated
nut on Amphenol
connector
(3) and disconnect.
( (3)
Press both tray latches (1) d own and hold in released
position.
Slide
tray
out of control
box.
CAUTION:
SOME
TRAY
ASSEMBLIES
ARE RATHER
HEAVY.
DO NOT
DROP.
B.
Installation
(1)
Position
tray in front of proper tray opening and carefully
insert side rails
(4) in control
box tracks (5).
(2)
Press the tray latches
(1) down and push tray in beyond latched position.
Release
latches and make certain
both function
properly
to limit
outward
trave I of tray.
(3)
Connect Amphenol
connector
plug to receptacle
and tighten
nut.
(4)
Push tray inward and secure with captive
screw fasteners
(2).
