(dd) Apply a ful I load (90 KVA,
260 A) to the generator.
Observe 'AC
voltmeter.
If the voltage
observed
varies
more than 1% (plus or
minus) from 115 V AC,
adjust rheostats
(2) and (3) slightly
to obtain
a voltage
of 115 V AC,
or as close to this
value as possible.
Turn
knobs CLOCKWISE
to INCREASE
voltage
and COUNTERCLOCKWISE
to DECREASE.
Turn each knob a small amount at a time to determine
which rheostat
is having the most effect
on output voltage
and re-
quires adjustment.
(c)
Adjust
"damp" and "rate"
potentiometers
(see Figure
7).
(See 7,
Fig.
6 for potentiometers
location
in voltage
regulator.)
I
Damping
adiustments
are very delicate
and should not be attempted'unless
the generator
output average phase value varies
more than 1 volt,
or
output
voltage
is unstable.
"Damp"
and "rate " adjustments
must be made
