(15) Disconnect air cleaner hose and disconnect starting aid control cable and output
tube.
(16) Remove air cleaner support frame attaching hardware. Clear away and release
all leads, cables, controls, etc.,
and after making certain the air cleaner,
starting aid, and support frame are free,
carefully
lift the assembly off.
(17) Remove all screws which attach the rear canopy and the control box to the
chassis.
(18)
Inspect th e control box and rear canopy carefully to make certain all leads,
cable ties, controls, etc., are disconnected so the control box assembly may
be lifted off.
(19) Attach a hoist to the control box and rear canopy assembly and carefully lift
the assembly off.
CAUTION: APPLY LIFTING POWER SLOWLY AND LIFT GRADUALLY
TO AVOID DAMAGE TO ANY PART.
NOTE: it should not be necessary to cut any wires, cables, or leads.
(20) Remove two screws and nuts which attach clutch shaft pillow-block bearing
(6, Fig. 4) to bracket (7). R emove cotter pin (1) and washer. Slide clutch
rod (2) out of clutch pedal arm.
If the rod cannot be completely disengaged
from the pedal, unhook spring (5, Fig. 16), remove clutch pedal retaining
ring (4), and slide the pedal off of the shaft sufficiently to free the rod.
Reposition pedal on shaft and install retaining ring (4). Reinstall return
spring (5).
(21) Disconnect leads (1 and 2, Fig. 5) to stop light switch and gearshift Micro-
switch.
(22) Disconnect the two brake tubes (3, Fig. 5) from the master cylinder fitting.
(23) Support the master cylinder and pedal assembly (2, Fig. 6) and remove two
cap screws (1) which attach the assembly to the frame. Lower the assembly
carefully to the floor,
then slide it out and store.
(24) Remove four screws and nuts which attach the drive shaft front universal joint
to the transmission.
