(9) Position the housing hub on the bearing.
Use screws longer than regular
attaching screws to "pull" the hub onto the bearing (see Fig. 13). Replace
long screws with regular attaching screws when the housing is pulled on
sufficiently. Tighten screws to 35 foot-pounds.
NOTE : (a) Tighten screws in a screw-to-opposite -screw sequence, tightening
each screw only a little at a time. Proceed with tightening
around the bolt circuit several times until the housing is in place
and all screws are tightly secured.
(b) Striking the ends of the rotor shaft with a rawhide or other soft
hammer will relieve any stress or binding on the bearings and
allow them to turn freely.
(c) Check all attaching screws for security.
