(4) Defective excitation-
(4) With generator running,
deenergization relay
place auto-manual switch
(EDR) (24, Fig. 1)
in AUTOMATIC position.
Connect a jumper lead
between terminals Al6 and
ClO, Fig. 3. Connect
another lead between
terminals Al5 and C9. If
the generator will now pro-
duce a normal voltage,
replace the excitation-
deenergization relay (EDR).
(5) Defective plug con -
nectar at voltage reg-
ulator or defective
wiring from regulator
to exe iter fie Id
(5) Before condemning the volt-
age regulator as the defec-
tive component, eliminate
the plug connector and wir-
ing as a possible trouble
source as follows:
(a)Disconnect Amphenol
connector (l-l, Fig. 9,
item 14). Insert a short
piece of wire in terminal
"E " of loose connection
(see Fig. 4). Insert an
another piece in terminal
"6 " . Connect a jumper
lead between the wire
in "E " and a good
GROUND. Connect
another jumper between
the wire in "C'! and +12-
V DC terminal E8. If the
generator will N OT pro-
duce a normal voltage,
replace or repair Amphe-
nol connector and wiring
between voltage regulator
