loosen after
running
a short time.
Check tension
and adjust
new belts after the first
one hour adjusting
time.
Check tension
again after
10 hours operation.
Check according
to maintenance
schedule
thereafter.
Generator
Maintenance
The 400-Hz
generator
requires
no maintenance
or service
other than periodic
cleaning.
Clean the complete generator
set when other components
of the tow tractor
are cleaned.
The unit
is brushless,
and bearings are permanently
lubricated
and sealed.

Cleaning
The generator
may be cleaned by careful
use of compressed air and/or a good SAFE
commercia I cleaner.
Steam cleaning
of the generator
is no longer recommended
because the use of steam and harsh chemical
compounds may result
in damage to
insulation
and generator
components.
CAUTION
:
BE SURE
THE
UN IT IS COMPLETELY
DRY
BEFORE
OPERATING.
WARNING:
DO NOT
USE A FLAMMABLE
SOLVENT.

Adjustment
The generator
itself
requires
no adjustment.
Adjustment
procedures
for generator
controls
will
be covered
in 2-3.
Tire
Inflation
Tiresare
high-pressure
truck type.
They must be kept properly
inflated
to avoid uneven
wear,
side-wall
damage, etc.
Keep inflated
to 60 PSI,
front and rear.
NOTE:
(1)
Use an accurate
tire pressure gage.
(2)
Check pressure when tires are cool.
