Note
position
of actuator
leads (black and white)
at terminals
(1 and 2,
Figure
11) so that they may be reconnected
properly.
Disconnect
actuator
leads.
Disconnect
ball joint
(5,
Fig.
9) from actuator
level
(4).
If actuator
adjustment
is correct,
or near to correct,
the lever will
remain
in IDLE
position
as indicated
in Fig.
9.
Check oil pressure and internal
components
of actuator
by manually
forcing
the actuator
lever downward,
out of IDLE
position.
If pressure
and internal
parts are normal,
the actuator
lever wil I resist
manual
actuation.
If no resistance
is felt,
the actuator
is either
not receiving
sufficient
fue I oil pressure or is internally
defective.
Replace
actuator
or restore
pressure.
Loosen locknut
(4,
Fig.
11).
Install
a 5/32-inch
Allen
wrench
in the
socket-head
adiusting
screw (3).
NOTE:
1.
Prevent
the actuator
pilot
valve
bushing (5) from turning
while
loosening
or tightening
nut (4),
or adjusting
screw
(3),
by placing an open-end
wrench across flats
on the
bushing .
2.
If fuel oil pressure and actuator
are normal,
l/4
turn of
screw (3) will
cause the lever (4,
Fig.
9) to move from
one limit
of its ful I trave I range (30 degrees) to the other.
Turning
the screw (3, Fig.
11) CLOCKWISE
(in) will
cause the lever to move downward
to FULL
FUEL
position.
Turning
the screw COUNTERCLOCKWISE
will
cause the
lever to move upward to IDLE
position.
(9)
Turn the adjusting
screw (3,
Fig.
11) as required
to make certain
it will
cause the actuator
lever to move through
its full
range,
back-and-forth.
In FULL
FILL
position
it will
be pointing
downward
at an angle of approx-
imate ly 10 degrees from horizontal.
Adjust
screw (3) to place the lever
in this FULL
FUEL
position,
then turn the adjusting
screw slowly
COUNTER-
CLOCKWISE
(out) until
the lever gradually
reaches
IDLE
position
(see
Fig.
9).
Stop turning
the screw as soon as the lever reaches the end of
its travel
into IDLE
position.
Tighten
locknut
(4).
At this point,
a
"rough"
adjustment
of the actuator
has been completed.
Reconnect
leads to actuator
terminals
(1 and 2,
Fig.
11) in their
original
.pos.if.ions,..
