UPON

PARKING
BRAKE
TO
HOLD
THE
VEHICLE
ON
WOODEN
BLOC KS.

Open hinged-folding
doors (3,
Fig.
1) on each side of the vehicle
and remove
left access cover (5) by removing
eight
screws.
Remove control
box cover by
removing
six attaching
screws.
(4)
Drain
the cooling
system.
Provide
floor
pans for catching
coolant.
(5)
Open battery access doors (7) and disconnect
both the positive
lead and ground
lead terminals
for extra safety.
Close doors.
(6)
Disconnect
the battery
positive
lead at the starter
solenoid.
(7)
Close the fuel tank shut-off
valve
(Ref.
l-l,
Fig.
3,
item 14),
located on the
right
side of the vehicle
and disconnect
both the fuel delivery
and return
hoses.
(8)
Remove floorboard
as follows:
(a)
Remove gearshift
lever knob.
(b)
Remove four attaching
screws and lift
off gearshift
lever boot.
Reinstall
knob.
(c)
Use a floor
creeper to gain access to the underside
of the floorboard,
and
disconnect
the accelerator
control
cable (3,
Fig.
2) from lever (1) by
removing
cotter
pin (2) and straight,
headed pin (5).
Loosen nut (4) and
slide the cable assembly out of the bracket
(6).
(d)
Remove sixteen
attaching
screws and lift
out the floorboard
assembly.
(Apply the parking
brake so that the floorboard
will
clear the lever.)
(9)
Remove attaching
screws and lift
off canopy top and doors.
(10)
Disconnect
front
clearance
light
leads at quick disconnects,
and remove front
canopy (1,
Fig.
1) attaching
screws.
Remove exhaust
pipe elbows
(if used) and
lift
off front canopy.
