SELF-PROPELLED GENERATOR SET, SFEC. NO. 5381A
(c) Disassemble screen assembly by removing top screen retainer, if removable.
(d) Wash all parts in cleaning solvent and dry with compressed air.
(e) Replace screen retainer , if removed,
and install screen assembly (5) in
fuel pump with hole down. Install spring (4) on top of screen assembly.
(f) Install cap (2) and "0"
ring and tighten to 20 to 25 foot-pounds.
(2) Priming the fue I pump
The easiest and best way to prime the fuel system is to prime the fue I pump.

Thoroughly clean pipe plug (4, Fig. 12) and the area around it.
Remove pipe plug (3).
Fill the pump with CLEAN fuel oil.
CAUTION: DO NOT ALLOW DIRT TO ENTER THE PUMP. USE
CLEAN FUNNEL AND FUEL CONTAINER.
