(4) When adjustment is completed, tighten nut (3) securely .
C. Parking Brake Adjustment
The parking brake should require little or no adjusting, since it is not subject to
wear imposed by stopping the vehicle.
Adjustment by use of the adjusting knob
located on the end of the parking brake lever should be sufficient for a long period
of time. If adjustment of the brake band is required, proceed as follows: (See
Figure 16)
(1) Raise the rear of the vehicle and position safety stands.
(2) Make certain the parking brake lever is in OFF position.
(3) Inspect brake lining (6) to drum (10) I
c earance around the complete brake
band assembly (5) to determine the adjustments needed.
(4) Remove cotter pin (13) and disconnect rod (14).
