6.4.3 POLYGON MIRROR MOTOR REPLACEMENT

NOTE: Do not remove the polygon mirror motor within 3 minutes after the main
switch is turned off (wait until the motor rotation stops). Otherwise, the
motor will be damaged.
1. Turn off the main power switch and unplug the machine.
2. Remove the exposure glass. (See Exposure Glass Removal.)
3. Remove the LD cover [A] (4 screws).
4. Replace the polygon mirror motor [B] (3 screws, 1 connector.)
NOTE: 1) When reinstalling, make sure that the polygon mirror opening faces
the right.
2) Do not touch the glass surface of the polygon mirror motor with bare
hands.
5. After reassembly, do the scanner and printer copy adjustments. (See
Replacement and Adjustment – Copy Image Adjustments.)
