33. When the machine is ready, enter SP mode as follows:
1) Press the clear modes key.
2) Enter "107".
3) Hold down the clear key for more than 3 seconds.
34. Press "Copy SP" on the LCD, and perform the TD initial setting as follows:
1) Select SP No. 2-801
2) Press the "Start key" on the LCD.
NOTE: This SP mode performs the TD initial setting. It will stop automatically in
about 1 minute.
35. Supply toner from the toner bank to the toner hopper as follows:
1) Select SP2-207-2 (Toner Bank Toner Supply)
2) Press the "Start key" on the LCD.
NOTE: By performing this SP mode, the toner is distributed into the toner
hopper and the toner transport path. It will stop automatically in about 7
minutes. If SP2-207-2 fails after SP2-801 is completed (an SC code is
displayed), repeat only SP2-207-2 again.

NOTE: When replacing the toner hopper unit, perform SP2-207-2 using the red
gear. Because the new toner hopper does not contain any toner, using
the red gear will fill the toner hopper but will not add toner to the
developer. Therefore, replace the white gear from the new toner
hopper unit with the red gear. After performing SP2-207-2, reinstall the
white gear. IMPORTANT- do not discard the red gear after completing
this installation. It will be necessary if you need to replace the toner
hopper unit.
36. Remove the screw that holds the drum stay.
37. Remove the drum stay knob and the drum stay (turn the knob clockwise to
remove it).
38. Disconnect the two connectors [A].
39. Pull out the development unit [B] as shown.
40. Remove the red toner hopper drive gear [C] (1 screw) and replace with the
white gear [D] supplied with the accessories.
NOTE: The red gear is used only to prime to toner supply system. Failing to
replace the red gear with the white gear will result in a lack of toner
delivery from the toner hopper to the developer unit.
