Naming Conventions

The System 85 allows each extension, pilot number or trunk group to have an alphanumeric name. This
name may be up to 40 characters long. If an extension is given a name, Adaptive Integration requires that
it meet certain restrictions. The Octel 200/300 port extensions, the link extensions, trunk groups, and the
pilot number of the UCD/EUCD/ACD group must be given names.

The name may contain any other information that is desired, but the strings specified above must precede
any other numeric characters. The character immediately following the string must be a non-numeric
character.
In some cases, the System 85 may shorten the display to 15 characters. The 15 characters that are shown
are configurable on each name and must be set so that the string specified above is entirely within these
15 characters.
The following are examples of valid names.
Valid Names for Extension 1234
Octel 200/300 S.4.1
The name must contain the string XXXX
where XXXX is the extension number.
The number must not be preceded with T-, A-, or D-.
The name must contain the string T-XXXX
where XXXX is the trunk group number assigned in the
Octel 200/300 TRUNK GROUP Table.
It is recommended that T be in upper case.
The name must contain the string D-XXXX
where XXXX is the extension number of the Octel 200/300 port.
It is recommended that D be in upper case.
The pilot number of the ACD/UCD hunt group and the extension of the
links must contain the string A-XXXX
where XXXX is either the pilot number or the extension of the link,
respectively.
It is recommended that A be in upper case.
