Testing Procedures

After the test extensions are configured and the SL-1 is prepared for testing, begin the testing procedure.
1. PRE OCTEL 200/300 SYSTEM OPERATIONAL TEST
This test verifies that dial tone is present on each PBX extension associated with the Octel
200/300 and the two digit display sets.

b. Connect the modular adapter to the 25-pair cable associated with slot 1.

d. Go off-hook. Is dial tone present?

g. Go off-hook on the SL-1 digit display set by pressing the DN key. Is dial tone present?
2. EXTENSION NUMBER CHECK
This test verifies that PBX extension numbers match the Octel 200/300 SLOT Table

b. Connect the second modular adapter to the 25-pair cable associated with the first integration

d. Connect telephones A and C to the two test telephone RJ11 jacks. Telephone C must be

Disconnect the 25-pair cables from the back of the Octel 200/300.
Connect a 2500-type single line telephone to the first jack position of the adapter.

For the 4-port line card, only the first four jack positions of the modular adapter are
used per cable.

Repeat steps b., c., and d. for all extensions and cables for each slot

configured with line cards. Then proceed to step e.

Determine the cause and correct the problem before continuing.

Connect the modular adapter to the 25-pair cable associated with the first integration slot.
Connect display phone to the first jack position of the adapter that is associated with
Integration Unit 1, Link 1 of the SLIC card.
YES
Repeat steps c. through e. to test all other configured Links associated with

the SLIC board.
NO
Determine the cause and correct the problem before continuing.

Before continuing with this test, obtain a hardcopy of the SLOTS Table for reference.
Connect one modular adapter to the 25-pair cable associated with slot 1.

Label the three single line telephones telephone A, telephone B, and telephone C. Connect
telephone B to the modular adapter position associated with
connected to the test phone line, which is configured for message waiting. Telephone C must
be the message waiting phone.
Connect an SL-1 digit display set to the jack position of the modular adapter that is associated
to Link 1 of the SLIC board. Connect second display phone to the modular adapter that is
associated to Link 2 on the SLIC board.
