Changes for Message Waiting Indication

To configure Octel 200/300 with message waiting notification on a System 85, the following
configuration changes must be made through the UPDATE program.
Mailbox COS
PB60019-01
AT&T System 85/Definity G2 Adaptive Integration
The System 85 provides Octel 200/300 with the trunk group number of
an external call. The TRUNK GROUP Table enables Octel 200/300 to
process the call according to which trunk group the call came in on
instead of which port Octel 200/300 answered the call on. This means
integrated ports do not need to be split. Examples of how this can be
applied include:
A different company greeting may be recorded for each trunk
-
group.
External and internal callers can have different intercept positions.
-
Different intercept positions can be defined for each trunk group.
-
Refer to the Configuration volume, Trunk Group Table chapter, for
more information.
MWI provides message waiting indication from Octel 200/300 for
phones equipped with message waiting lamp. Octel 200/300 COS
attribute 9 is assigned to extensions having these indicators.
Called party identification provides several mailbox convenience
features for direct internal callers (as described in the called party
identification call processing section of this chapter). Every Octel
200/300 mailbox may use all of these features except the personal
greeting access feature, that is assigned by COS through
INFORMATION Table Index 25. Index 25 must be defined as YES to
permit selected people to access their personal greetings without
entering their mailbox. This access is possible only when a person is
calling Octel 200/300 directly from the extension associated with their
mailbox.
COS Attribute 9 — LAMP OR DISPLAY PHONE MESSAGE
WAITING
For message waiting indication only, assign a COS with Attribute 9 to
those mailboxes of extensions that should have message waiting
indication.
