Configuration of Test Extensions

For testing purposes, two additional analog extensions and one additional digital extension must be
configured in the DEFINITY G3i before performing the tests described in the following sections.
The configuration procedure is as follows:
1. Allocate two analog extensions (2500-type single line) in the DEFINITY G3i.
2. Configure one of these extensions with message waiting. The station configuration screen's Name
entry should use this format — Test B EXT-B. Example,
Name: Test B 123−B
EXT-B is replaced with the extension number. In the tests that follow, the number of this extension is
referred to as EXT-B. Assign this station the same COR assigned to the Octel 200/300 ports and a
coverage path in which the Octel 200/300 hunt group is the first coverage point. The coverage path
must specify forwarding on RNA and busy.
3. The second analog extension does not need message waiting. Use this format for its Name entry —
Test A EXT-A. Example,
Name: Test A 567−A
EXT-A is replaced with the extension number. In the tests that follow, the number of this extension is
referred to as EXT-A. Assign this station the COR assigned to the Octel 200/300 ports and the same
coverage path assigned to extension EXT-B.
4. Allocate one digital extension in the DEFINITY G3i. It should be configured the same as the
extension of Links. Use this format for its Name entry — Test 1 EXT-T1. EXT-T1 is replaced
with the extension number. Example,
Name: Test 1 345−TI

DEFINITY G3i Testing

The tests in this section are performed before the actual installation of the ATTIC board. For these tests,
the 25-pair cable connecting the Octel 200/300 ports to the DEFINITY G3i should be disconnected from
the Octel 200/300 ports. Before disconnecting the Octel 200/300 25-pair cable, mark each one with the
number of the to which it is connected. This ensures that the cables can be re-connected correctly after
the ATTIC board is installed. If the Octel 200/300 ports are not connected to their assigned DEFINITY
G3i extensions, the Octel 200/300 cannot handle calls properly.
Refer to the diagram of the 7407D display telephone for the location of the feature buttons.
.
Do not configure the links as 7407D telephones. The 7407D is used to test the links while they are
configured as 7405Ds. Note that 7405Ds may be used for testing.
