Forwarded Internal Calls
When a caller at one extension calls another extension and the call is forwarded to the Octel 200/300 the
System 75 sends a call record in the following format:
a = XXX Name to YYY Name
XXX is the number of the calling extension, YYY is the number of the original called extension, and R is
a code indicating the reason the call was forwarded.
The Octel 200/300 answers the call, prompts the caller with the status of the extension, and offers
messaging and call processing options. If the caller is calling from an extension that has a valid mailbox
and leaves a message, this mailbox number is attached to the caller's message so the Octel 200/300 can
identify which caller left the message. When the person receiving the message listens to it, the Octel
200/300 is able to play the name of the caller who left the message before playing the message itself. The
person receiving the message may automatically reply to the message.
.
In collocated systems, if the extension numbers and names are not recorded in the same cabinet for
both the caller and the called party, the Octel 200/300 does not play the caller's name to the person
receiving the message and the REPLY feature cannot be used.
If the called extension does not contain the extension number in the name field, the call will be handled
as a direct external call from Trunk Group 0.
If Trunk Group 0 is set up in the TRUNK GROUP Table, the Octel 200/300 will answer with the greeting
for Trunk Group 0. If Trunk Group 0 is not configured, the Octel 200/300 will answer with the main
company greeting.
How Incoming Call Ports are Selected with the AT&T System 75
With the AT&T System 75, the Octel 200/300 controls selection of ports for both incoming and outgoing
calls. With the AT&T System 75 integration, System Parameter 169 — METHOD FOR OUTCALL
PORT SELECTION, affects the order in which the system selects ports for incoming calls as well as for
outcalls. Refer to the Configuration volume, System Parameter Table, Description of System Parameters,
for more information about System Parameter 169.
