7.3.3 AT&T SYSTEM 85 CONFIGURATION
Several changes must be made to the System 85 configuration to utilize Octel 200/300's AI features. The
System 85 configuration used for Octel 200/300 with AI is slightly different from the configuration used
for a non-integrated Octel 200/300.
All Octel 200/300 ports are configured to be in a single UCD/EUCD/ACD group. The type of group

available on the System 85 varies with the version:
R2V2
R2V3 and later ACD
For the EUCD/ACD group to function correctly, all Octel 200/300 ports must be staffed-in. The
-
staff-in procedure is unique to each site and should be obtained from the PBX vendor.
Calls on incoming trunks that are to be handled by Octel 200/300 are terminated to the EUCD/ACD
-
hunt group.
Four digital sets are configured that have appearances of each of the Octel 200/300 ports. In this
-
chapter, the four ATTIC links are referred to as Integration Unit 1, Link 1 and Link 2, and Integration
Unit 2, Link 1 and Link 2.
Coverage groups are created for calls that follow call coverage for busy or ring-no-answer to forward

to the Octel 200/300 hunt group.
The changes to the configuration of the System 85 are divided into six sections.

If this is an existing Octel 200/300 installation, delete the entire configuration for the Octel
200/300 ports before configuring them for Adaptive Integration (e.g., delete the names, hunt group
affiliations, locations, hunting, etc.). You may encounter problems if you attempt to modify the
existing configuration on the System 85 — it will be much easier if you delete the old
configuration and re-enter it.
