Integration Volume
Each Octel 200/300 port extension must have the following capabilities. For some SL-1 installations,
these capabilities must be specifically configured for each Octel 200/300 port extension by COS (Class of
Service).
Ability to send DTMF tones (DTN)

Ability to follow the hunting sequence on busy (HTA)

Ability to perform a hookswitch transfer (XFA)

Ability to forward calls on a no-answer condition (FNA)

Ability to forward all calls through a command sequence from the phone. Also, the ability to cancel

SLIC Link Digit Display Telephone Extensions

The SLIC board has four digit display extensions:
Integration Unit 1, Link 1

Integration Unit 2, Link 1

Each Integration Unit is responsible for up to 16 ports of integrated call processing.

If the system has more than 16 ports, a second SLIC board is required to support message waiting
commands.
The configuration steps that follow pertain to a single Integration Unit within a card. Repeat these steps
to configure both Integration Units.

The overflow extension must not be configured as an appearance on the digit display set. The
primary directory number assigned for each link must be a unique extension.
The SL-1 digit display set must be configured to have two extra rows of buttons (the 20 key add on
module) for Octel 200/300 port appearances.
Each SL-1 digit display set link into the Octel 200/300 SLIC must be specifically configured for its Octel
200/300 SLIC link extension and must have the following capabilities.
Digit display on the SL-1 digit display set (ADD — allow digit display)

Message waiting capability (MWC — allow message waiting)

High priority allowed (HPR)

SL-1 Digit Display Set Keyboard Layout
The following are the key configurations for the SL-1 digit display set. The keys must be configured into
the same locations for
Figure 6-1 shows the required key layout for testing for up to 16 ports followed by the SL-1 configuration
commands required to create this layout.
In systems with more than 16 ports, the ports are divided between the integration units in an alternating
fashion. See Figure 6-1 and Table 6-1 for key layout for testing. Integration Unit 1 is programmed with
all odd numbered ports and Integration Unit 2 with all even ports.
