8.1-4 Integration Volume

8.1.2 ROLM CBX REQUIREMENTS

The ROLM CBX is configured differently for an integrated application than it is for a non-integrated
Octel 200/300 installation.
All Octel 200/300 ports are configured to be in a single terminal hunt group. The extension number
-
of each port also has appearances on the display phones.
Calls on incoming trunks to be handled by Octel 200/300 are directed to this hunt group using the
-
ROLM DED (dedicated trunk) feature.
The primary lines on the display phones (LINE 001) are configured as separate numbers, not as part
-
of the Octel 200/300 hunt group.
Calls to extensions that are busy are forwarded to Octel 200/300 hunt group on a station-by-station
-
basis.
Calls to extensions that are ring-no-answer are forwarded to Octel 200/300 hunt group on a
-
station-by-station basis.
The ROLM installation requirements are divided into three categories: Hardware, Software, and CBX
Specific Configuration.

Hardware Requirements

Hardware consists of two parts — an analog and a digital interface.
Analog — Single Line Extension. The analog portion consists of the Octel 200/300 interface line
-
cards. Each port on the card is connected to an analog telephone interface line (single line extension,
2500 type). This is the same as in a conventional Octel 200/300 installation.
Caution!
Display Phone. The digital portion consists of four display phone telephone lines for the RIC board
-
in the Octel 200/300 (part number 300−6025−001). Connect the configured links to the RIC board.
These display phone lines should be configured as described below.
The RIC can be installed in slots A1 − A6. The RIC must be plugged into the configured slot.

The following ROLM software is required for the installation:
