7.1.2 DEFINITY G3 REQUIREMENTS

The DEFINITY G3i installation requirements are divided into three categories: Hardware, Software and
Configuration.

Hardware Requirements

The DEFINITY G3i hardware interface for the Octel 200/300 with Adaptive Integration requires both
analog lines (for the Octel 200/300 ports) and digital lines (for the ATTIC links).
Analog Single Line Extensions. The DEFINITY G3i must provide analog telephone ports (single
-
line extension, 2500 type) from its analog line circuit cards (part number TN742 or TN746) for each
port in the cabinet.
Digital Voice Terminal Extensions. The DEFINITY G3i must provide a digital voice terminal port

for each ATTIC link in the Octel 200/300. If two or more AT&T digital line cards (part number
TN754B) are available, having each digital link on a different digital line card in the DEFINITY G3i
provides greater reliability.
Cables. One 25-pair cable per slot.

Software Requirements

The following DEFINITY G3i software is required for the installation:

All software releases for DEFINITY G3i and G3r are acceptable.

Configuration Requirements

The DEFINITY G3i configuration must have two unassigned Classes of Restriction (COR) available for
use with Adaptive Integration.

When using 2500-type telephone sets with message waiting lamps other than AT&T
3178-SYSI or equivalent, special PBX hardware may be required in order to allow the
DEFINITY G3i to control the message waiting lamp.
