7.3.5 AT&T SYSTEM 85 TESTING AND INSTALLATION
This section describes the procedures for testing and installation of System 85 Adaptive Integration. The
System 85 and the Octel 200/300 should always be checked for proper operation after any changes are
made to the system configuration. In addition to the system test, there are some tests that should be made
before Octel 200/300 is connected. The following items are required for testing:

During all installation and testing procedures, no other calls should be made in to Octel 200/300.
If Octel 200/300 receives other calls, the test results may be invalid.
Follow the testing procedures carefully, in the following order:
1. Configuration of test extensions
2. Testing of AT&T System 85
3. Installation of ATTIC board
4. Testing of Adaptive Integration

Description
2500-type (single line touchtone) phones, one with a message waiting indicator.
Terminal/teleprinter directly connected to Octel 200/300 J1 or SP1 via RS-232C
cable.
Hard copy of the Octel 200/300 Configuration Database.
Hard copy of the System 85 Configuration.
Single line analog extensions (connected to RJ11 jacks) for testing. These extensions
are in addition to the Octel 200/300 port extensions.
Eight conductor line cords, AT&T 2725-07G or equivalent.
AT&T 7407D or 7405D digital display phones. These phones are required for testing
purposes only. They are used to emulate the ATTIC board.
Modular adapter for digital sets. Recommend AT&T 356A adapter.
Modular adapter for the 2500. Recommend Armiger AA2560A or equivalent.
