Universal Serial Bus, a hardware interface for low-speed peripherals such as the
keyboard, mouse, joystick, scanner, printer and telephony devices. It also
supports MPEG-1 and MPEG-2 digital video. USB version 1.1 has a maximum
bandwidth of 12 Mbits/sec (equivalent to 1.5 Mbytes/sec), and up to 127 devices
can be attached. Fast devices can use the full bandwidth, while lower-speed ones
can transfer data using a 1.5 Mbits/sec subheading.
