18 DATA COMMUNICATION FUNCTIONS
18.5 Transparent
Transparent on Data Zone-CH/GID
Transparent on Data Zone-CH/GID is the function that allows the transceiver to automatically change the channel to Data
Zone-channel or GID to send Transparent data.
The transceiver automatically changes the channel to Data Zone-channel or GID to send Transparent data. The
transceiver restores the last Zone-channel or GID before completing transmitting the Transparent data. Transparent on
Data Zone-CH/GID is used to send the data on a specific dedicated channel.
Note
This function is not available in an NXDN Trunking system.

Preamble Length (NXDN Conventional System Only)
Preamble Length is the function to extend time for sending a preamble when the NXDN frame is sent.
Extending the time for sending a preamble at the beginning of transmission makes the receiving transceiver easier to
receive a call and reduces missing of the beginning of the audio during the scan.
The extended time of a preamble is determined by using the following equation.
Very Narrow:
Time [s] = 1/2400 x 4 x Configuration value for Preamble Length
Narrow:
Time [s] = 1/4800 x 8 x Configuration value for Preamble Length
