16 COMMUNICATIONS IN AN EMERGENCY
16.6 Placing the Transceiver Automatically in Emergency Mode
Man-down Switch
Man-down Switch is the function to be used with the Man-down tilt switch connected to the internal connection in the
transceiver or connected to pin 9 of the universal connector.
If the Man-down tilt switch is used by connecting it to the internal connection in the transceiver, Internal Type must be
configured for Man-down Switch. If the Man-down tilt switch is used by connecting it to pin 9 of the Universal Connector,
External Type must be configured for Man-down Switch. If "None" is configured for Man-down Switch, Emergency Mode is
not activated even if the Man-down tilt switch is connected. Also, if the configured type is different from the type of the
Man-down tilt switch connected to the transceiver, Emergency Mode is not activated.

Man-down Delay Time
Man-down Delay Time is the length of time from when the Man-down tilt switch is activated until the transceiver enters
Emergency Mode.
Emergency Mode is activated when the Man-down tilt switch is activated. Man-down Delay Time is used to prevent the
Emergency functions from being activated erroneously by a false operation.
Configuration using KPG-111D/ DN

Man-down Pre-alert
Man-down Pre-alert is the tone emitted from the transceiver from when the Man-down tilt switch is activated until the
Emergency Mode is actually activated.
If the Man-down tilt switch is activated unintentionally, the transceiver emits the Pre-alert tone before activating the
Emergency Mode to notify a user that the Emergency Mode is imminent to be activated.
The time configured for Man-down Pre-alert must be shorter than the time configured for Man-down Delay Time.

Man-down Logic Type
Man-down Logic Type is the logic of the Man-down tilt switch that is connected to the transceiver.
Configuration
Active Low
The transceiver distinguishes that the Man-down tilt switch is activated if the input port goes the low level.
Active High
The transceiver distinguishes that the Man-down tilt switch is activated if the input port goes the high level.
