NXDN TRUNKING SYSTEM
NXDN is a generic name for a digital communication system protocol utilizing 4-level FSK. Using NXDN, the transceiver can
initiate an Individual Call or Group Call for voice calls, communicate various types of messages, or send and receive GPS data.
Also, connecting a transceiver to an external device (such as a PC) allows communication because the NEXEDGE transceiver
supports serial command communication.
In an NXDN Trunking system, 2 types of channels, control channels and traffic channels, are used (these are referred to
collectively as a system).
A control channel is used for sending various messages to control a system. A control channel is also used for calls, such
as Status Call or Short Data Call.
A traffic channel is used for sending various types of communication information of users.
Via a system, the transceiver can establish communications using NXDN IDs (Unit ID and Group ID), such as an individual
call or group call.
In addition, the transceiver can be operated either in a single system or in multiple systems in an NXDN Trunking system:
the former uses only one system and the latter uses 1 to 8 systems.
Single System
In a single system, the transceiver can use only one system.
